"I'm like anybody else." For the past few days I've been discussing with friends and relatives on whether or not this is a good image, a bad image, whether it is unethical…  And last night while walking past Notre-Dame I run into this man for a second time. He was taking photos of the church with his daughter, I believe panoramas of the architecture and they seemed very involved in the process. I wasn't sure what to do, I wanted to talk with him and show him the image. So I called the best coach in town (my mom) for some encouragement. "YES" she said, three times in a row. So I did, I walked up to him, told him I had photographed him a few days prior, said I collected people, showing him the picture and a dozen of other ones. "So you want my permission?", he asked (I didn't even know what I wanted at this point). "You can do whatever you want with this picture, I'm like anybody else." His daughter smiled and seemed curious about the project. “Good luck with the book”, he said. Before leaving I introduced myself "I'm David by the way, nice to meet you" and he replied "I'm David too."
