Happy #InternationalSushiDay! 🍣 In case you just started following us and didn’t know, this is my daughter Joey taking a nap. God knows what I was thinking dressing her up like this instead of napping as well. I was just so mesmerized with Jo after she was born and would just stare at her all day, even while she napped. When I realized nothing really woke her up while she slept, I started dressing her up with things I found around the house to send funny photos to make my parents laugh. We were in newspapers, magazines and reposted every where. My photography website crashed and got hacked into several times. My email inbox was in the tens of thousands unread. We were offered so many merchandising opportunities (Joey-themed apron anyone?), reality TV shows, TV interviews, even @theellenshow contacted us a couple of times. Along with these offers, also came the endless hate mail, fake accounts impersonating me and even death threats. People found our phone numbers and tried to visit our home and workplace. Some people even contacted my past colleagues that I worked with to get ahold of me somehow. We were recognized easily in public places and several times people rushed at us for photos. I started getting nightmares about people harming Joey (a common one was Joey being stabbed in a crowd or while I was taking her out in a stroller). I grew a habit of triple checking the windows in the house to see if they were locked. All this while going thru postpartum recovery and trying to figure out parenting for the first time. It was pretty unreal. But finally the dust settled. We saw the village that surrounded us in love, prayer and support. I wanted to shut down this account many times but...[continued in comments below] #naptimewithjoey
